Team WRT has revealed stunning new liveries for its pair of LMGT3 BMW M4s, that will debut at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The #31 will race in red, white and black, while the #46 will race in blue, white and Day-Glo yellow.
#31’s red and white scheme comes from the 1977 class-winning UFO BMW 3.0 CSL of the BMW Luigi team.
The emblematic livery has a particularly special link to Team WRT. Not only was it run by fellow, ultra-successful Belgians, but Pierre Dieudonné, who has been WRT’s Sporting Director since 2011, was one of the drivers of the class-winning Le Mans car.
The liveries replace those seen on the cars since Qatar, a pair of offerings that it would be fair to say were seen to be somewhat underwhelming after many memorable WRT liveries in seasons past.
The #31 and #46 BMWs dominated Round 2 of the Championship at Imola before suffering separate misfortunes at Spa, the #46 the innocent victim of an incident triggered by Rene Rast in his WRT-run BMW Hypercar and the #31 similarly unlucky as it was caught up in Earl Bamber’s accident on the Kemmel Straight.
The #31 of Darren Leung, Augusto Farfus and Sean Gelael currently sits second in the championship points with the #46 of Ahmad Al Harthy, Valentino Rossi and Maxime Martin fourth.
