The Ligier European Series entry process is now open, with the French manufacturer having confirmed the 2025 schedule and format, and outlined tweaks to the regulations ahead of the 2025 season.
In the rule-book, next year the penalty for Silver-rated drivers during pit stops has been removed. This change aims to make the series more accessible to Silver drivers, who are increasingly keen to compete in the championship.
However, the penalty designed to maintain fair competition between solo drivers and two-driver line-ups will remain in place.
The JS P4/JS2 R-based series is set to compete on the ELMS support bill in 2025 and during the build up to the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Each weekend will feature its usual condensed two-day Friday and Saturday format with two 40-minute free practice sessions, two 15-minute qualifying sessions and two one-hour races, aside from the rounds at Le Mans and Portimao.
At La Sarthe the race will take place on the Le Mans Test Day, and the season finale at Portimão will be held on Thursday and Friday.
The prize pot remains attractive too. The JS P4 champion(s) will recieve 150,000 Euros to put towards a Le Mans Cup programme in 2026 with a Ligier JS P325, while the JS2 R winner(s) will be handed 100,000 Euros for a move into the JS P4 category the following season.
