Pratt Miller Motorsports’ new ORECA LMP2 07 is currently testing at Daytona International Speedway ahead of its debut in the 63rd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona, in its striking new black, gray, and orange-accented livery that was revealed today.
The drivers of the #73 ORECA have already been announced in November and December: Canadian Bronze driver Chris Cumming and ex-Rahal Letterman Lanigan IndyCar driver Pietro Fittipaldi will run all seven LMP2 races this season, alongside Indy NXT sophomore James Roe for the Michelin Endurance Cup, and newly-signed PREMA IndyCar ace Callum Ilott for Daytona.
Long-time Pratt Miller Programme Director, Marc Maurini, will lead the new LMP2 effort. Maurini previously worked as a Pratt Miller engineer for the Chevrolet IndyCar engine programme, before becoming the Corvette Racing Programme Director in the fall of 2020.
The Pratt Miller LMP2 programme marks the firm’s return to its prototype racing roots, which began in 1991 with the Pratt Miller-constructed, Riley-designed Intrepid RM-1 – and later included the development of the Corvette Daytona Prototype.
