Amidst its expansion into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, DXDT Racing has also confirmed its continued presence in GT World Challenge America for the 2025 season.
After a record-breaking 2024 season that produced ten wins across all classes, DXDT will return to GT World Challenge America’s Pro-Am class, fielding the #64 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R for Blake McDonald and Matt Bell.
McDonald joins DXDT full-time after debuting in the Indianapolis 8 Hour in October. He won the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West title last year, collected five Pro-Am podiums in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, and got up to speed quickly in his first GT3 race weekend – despite having never driven the car before the first practice session at Indianapolis.
“I’m thrilled to be joining DXDT for GT World Challenge America this year,” said McDonald. “I grew up loving Corvettes, so to get the chance to race one for the season alongside a friend in Matt Bell is very exciting. I knew we could win some championships together after running with the team for the 2024 Indy 8 Hour, and that’s exactly what we plan on doing.”
Bell, who has been McDonald’s driver coach in recent years, joins him in the cockpit in 2025. The English driver already drives a Corvette Z06 GT3.R in IMSA for AWA, and will make his GT World Challenge America debut in 2025. He is a past champion in the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 category and the IMSA Prototype Challenge series.
“I’m really excited to be joining DXDT for the GTWC America season with Blake,” added Bell. “The team had an incredible run in the championship last year so the expectations will be high, but I’m confident we can make 2025 just as successful with the program we have built. Blake sampled the team and car at the Indy 8 Hour last year which went really well, and I’m excited to be pairing up with him! I’ve loved driving the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R in 2024, so I’m glad to be on double-duty in such an awesome car in 2025.”
They’ll hope to succeed a combination of drivers, including new DXDT Programme Manager Bryan Sellers, which drove the #64 Corvette last season. Sellers and Bryson Morris took two Pro-Am victories, one each at Road America and Barber Motorsports Park.
“As our team expands into IMSA this year, I’m really happy that we’ll continue racing in GT World Challenge America,” said Team Owner David Askew. “We had tremendous success in the series last year, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve with Blake and Matt this year.
“Blake impressed us at Indy last season, and Matt has a proven track record, not only around the world, but in the Corvette. It’s a great first piece of the puzzle for us as we continue to put together our 2025 SRO program.”
