Iron Dames has revealed that Marta Garcia and Vanina Ickx will share a Proton Huber Competition-run Porsche 922 GT3 R 992 in the 2025 Le Mans Cup.
This combination of youth and experience sees 2023 F1 Academy Champion Garcia team up with highly experienced sportscar racer Ickx for a European campaign on the ELMS support bill.
“Never say never!” Ickx, who joined the Iron Dames programme earlier this month, said. “I thought I’d retired for good, but here I am. The opportunity to join the Iron Dames and participate in a championship as competitive as the Michelin Le Mans Cup was simply too good to miss.
“A great programme of six thrilling races on some of the world’s most iconic circuits awaits Marta and I. I’ve had to get back into gear to keep up with my talented teammate and the whole Iron Dames team. Together, we’ll strive to carry the Iron Dames flag high and continue inspiring others.”
Garcia added: “I’m extremely happy to announce that I’m going to be competing in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in the Porsche GT3, and it’s all the more special knowing I’ll be racing alongside Vanina.
“This is a big step in my career and a new chapter that fills me with motivation and excitement. I want to thank Iron Dames for the opportunity and we will work as hard as we can to achieve strong results.”
The 2025 Le Mans Cup season kicks off with Garcia’s home race in Barcelona on March 5th.
