Tomorrow will see the entry list for the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup issued with the Series seeing two major changes for the coming season.
One is a class split in LMP3.
That sees the options of:
LMP3 Pro-Am, effectively a continuation of the current LMP3 class and its driver ranking restrictions for Bronze/Bronze, Bronze/Silver and Bronze/Gold line-ups.
Joining for 2025 is LMP3 allowing for Silver/Silver and Silver/Gold driver pairings.
GT3 continues for regular GT3 (not the torque meter-equipped LM GT3) cars.
The other is the switch, alongside the 2025 European Le Mans Series, to the third generation of LMP3 machinery, the 5.6 litre normally aspirated Nissan V8, which has powered all cars in the class since 2020, replaced by a 3.5 litre twin turbo Toyota V6.
Four chassis options are available to customers, and unlike the Gen 2 iteration, all four options look set to be represented in the entry list tomorrow with no shortage of Ligier customers and some carry-over Duqueine squads being joined it sees by at least one Ginetta, DKR Engineering telling DSC that they intended to enter a car apiece in ELMS and Le Mans Cup.
And there looks set to be a presence from Adess and their new AD25 too after Nielsen Racing confirmed a deal with the Portuguese manufacturer, in a package that includes the appointment of three-time LMP3 title winner (Henderson British LMP3 Cup, Michelin Le Mans Cup and Asian Le Mans Series) Colin Noble, now the Adess Development and Race Driver, to the team.
