GT World Challenge Asia has published the provisional full-season entry list for the 2025 season, featuring a capacity grid of 33 cars and eight manufacturers, matching the record established last year.
This 33-car maximum entry list accounts for the smallest pitlane on the calendar, though additional part-time entries will appear throughout 2025 in other events.
Reigning GT World Challenge Asia Teams’ Champion, Origine Motorsport, has grown to a three-car team this season – representing a quarter of the twelve current-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Rs on the grid this year. Origine has already announced Li Kerong and Anders Fjordbach in the new #86 Porsche for 2025.
Porsche will also be represented by two-car entries from Phantom Global Racing, Porsche Center Okazaki, and Absolute Racing. Phantom Global has already confirmed Sun Jingzu and Adderly Fong in its #13 Porsche. Porsche Center Okazaki’s lineups are set with Hiroaki Nagai and Kazuto Kotaka in the #18 Nine Racing entry opposite the #25 Nihon Kizai Racing car of Kiyoshi Uchiyama and Tsubasa Kondo.
The rest of the Porsche contingent features single-car entries from Earl Bamber Motorsport (EBM), GTO Racing Team, Vollgas Motorsports – and in the previous-generation 991.2 GT3 R, AMAC Motorsport.
Mercedes-AMG has six committed entries, two of which come from Craft-Bamboo Racing and Climax Racing. EBM and Harmony Racing Team will also enter a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO. Already, Setiawan Santoso and Martin Berry have been announced as EBM’s drivers for the #8 Mercedes-AMG.
Former Mercedes customer Johor Motorsport Racing (JMR) has joined Corvette Racing over the offseason and will introduce two new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs to the Pan-Asian series for the first time, the #66 and #99. Malaysian royals Jefri and Abu Bakar Ibrahim were already announced as part of the driver roster.
Another significant manufacturer change is with Absolute Corse, going from Ferrari to a pair of Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s.
Ferrari will still have four customer 296 GT3s on the grid this year led by a two-car effort from Harmony Racing: The #55 of Liu Hangcheng and Lorenzo Patrese, and the #96 of Andy Deng Yi and David Chen Weian. LM corsa will retain Shigekazu Wakisaka in its #60 Ferrari, and with the backing of AF Corse, Garage 75’s number 75 car returns with David Tjiptobiantoro and Christian Columbo behind the wheel.
BMW will have two cars on the grid, including the return of BMW M Team Studie to the series under the PLUS Racing banner – with the latest M4 GT3 EVO. They’ll be joined by Team KRC’s Tony Ruan Cunfan and Maxime Oosten in the #89 BMW.
The spirit of Audi Sport customer racing will continue into 2025 as three R8 LMS GT3 EVO IIs are still on this year’s grid. Not only will the Phantom Global Racing-run FAW Audi Sport Asia Racing Team return with two cars, but the series welcomes a new entry, Uno Racing, to the grid. Rio (Ma) and Shaun Thong will drive the #16 Uno Racing machine.
Finally, there’s Team 5Zigen’s single Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, with the refreshed line-up of Motoki Takami and Yu Kanamaru, completing the field of cars that will make its first appearance of the season at Sepang Circuit on 11-13 April. It is the only car that’s not eligible to score points towards the Global GT World Challenge Manufacturers’ Championship, which will be contested between Audi, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche.
