United Autosports has revealed that David Heinemeier Hansson and Pietro Fittipaldi will join Renger van der Zande in the team’s #22 ORECA 07 for the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, forming part of the team’s push to claim a third class win at the race.
Silver-ranked Dane Heinemeier Hansson has plenty of FIA World Endurance Championship experience to draw from, with eight race wins and 23 podiums to his name. The FIA Silver-graded driver is a previous Le Mans class winner (2014, GTE Am) and in June 2025 will take on the ultimate test of endurance for the 12th time.
“I’m thrilled to return to Le Mans, in a car fielded by United Autosports” says Heinemeier Hansson. “Their record, their preparation and their results speak for themselves. This is as good a shot as I’ve ever had at a great result. Especially driving with Pietro for the third time at Le Mans and reuniting with Renger after sharing several cars with him in IMSA years back. Can’t wait!”
Brazilian American driver Pietro Fittipaldi, meanwhile, is the third and final driver to be revealed in the #22, teaming up with Heinemeier Hansson and two-time Rolex 24 at Daytona race winner van der Zande.
The 28-year-old, FIA Gold-rated driver – grandson of two-time Formula One World Champion and two-time Indy 500 race winner, Emerson Fittipaldi – is a WEC race winner (2023) and will make his third Le Mans start with United.
“It’s always very special to race at Le Mans,” says Fittipaldi. “I had great success the last time I was there, fighting for pole position in 2023, and now with the opportunity to defend the Le Mans win for United Autosports … I’m extremely excited for this opportunity. I want to thank Richard Dean and the whole United Autosports team for having the trust and confidence in me. I’m really looking forward to going racing with David, Renger and the #22 crew.”
In 2024, the #22 United Autosports ORECA 07 took LMP2 class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the second time (2020 and 2024). This year, the Anglo-American team will go for victory across three categories simultaneously, with the #22 LMP2, #23 LMP2 Pro/Am and, on the 30th anniversary of McLaren’s legendary Le Mans win, the #59 and #95 McLaren LMGT3s.
