Hoy & Harris To Compete In Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational

Two high profile guest drivers will compete on the Le Mans support bill with Ford

Ford Performance has confirmed guest appearances in next month’s Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational for 2015 ELMS LMP3 champion and Olympic Cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy and former Top Gear presenter, Chris Harris.

The pair will race once each in the #77 Mustang Dark Horse R in the so-called Dark Horse Stars class as part of the double-header support race that is on the bill for the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Sir Chris (featured), who is currently battling stage four prostate cancer, has raced at Le Mans proper back in 2016 in an Algarve Pro Racing Ligier JS P2. He finished 17th overall and 12th in class alongside Andrea Pizzitola and Michael Munemann.

Harris (above), meanwhile, has raced at the Circuit de La Sarthe before in the Le Mans Classic, and has raced in 24-hour races at Spa, the Nürburgring and Silverstone.

This news comes as Ford Performance continues to assemble what it hopes will be a large field of over 35 cars for the Dark Horse R’s European debut.
