As is now regularly the case a number of additional drivers have been added to the Le Mans 24 Hours entry for Sunday’s Test Day to offset any issues if a car suffers dramas, and to give the opportunity for Reserve Drivers to get some laps if the workload allows.
In Hypercar Porsche Penske Motorsport Reserve Driver Nico Muller is named against all three factory entered cars so can lap in any, or all, of the #4,5 and/ or 6 963s.
For Toyota Gazoo Racing Reserve Driver Jose Maria Lopez is listed for both GR010s with the #7 seeing Sebastien Buemi added to the regular three-driver crew and the #8 conversely adding Mike Conway to the regular trio.
Philipp Eng is added as a fourth driver for both factory BMWs with Theo Pourchaire listed in both Peugeots in addition to his planned run in the #25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca in LMP2.
For Cadillac the Hertz Team Jota squad name five drivers for both of their cars the #12 adding Earl Bamber and Sebastien Bourdais from the #38, and the #38 with both Alex Lynn and Will Stevens from the #12 added.
The #101 Cadillac WTR team adds Louis Deletraz to their squad, the Swiss also named in the AO by TF Oreca in LMP2 Pro-Am .
And, Earl Bamber, from the #38 Hertz Team Jota car adds the #311 Cadillac Whelen Action Express Caddy, he then is listed against three different Cadillacs.
There’s still no confirmation on whether the Aston Martin F1 team will call up either Felipe Drugovich or Stoffel Vandoorne, both of whom are listed as reserve drivers for the squad, to substitute for Lance Stroll at the Canadian Grand Prix. Both are listed against their planned hypercar drives with the #311 Cadillac and #94 Peugeot.
The only driver listed in a Cadillac for Test Day that is not currently listed for the race is Deletraz.
In LMP2 there are two additional drivers named for the Test Day:
Algarve Pro Racing have named Sophia Floersch as a fourth driver for their #25 Oreca whilst Inter Europol add 2024 class winner Bijoy Garg to their #43 crew for Sunday’s running.
