These words courtesy of Kerry Morse, arriving here via John Brooks’ excellent Double Declutch blog on the subject of the atrocity at Charlie Hebdo in Paris yesterday
Any tragedy is driven home when one has the slightest memory of an individual.
One of the twelve murdered in Paris was Georges Wolinski, aside from being a brilliant artist, he was responsible for several art cars that ran at Le Mans among other venues. The GT2 that was one of his most recognizable canvases (seen below at Le Mans in 1998) is among the most loved of all Porsche models.

Wolinski’s art will always be remembered……

Words cannot adequately convey my revulsion at the repulsive acts perpetrated at the offices of Charlie Hebdo yesterday. The involvement of one of our racing family merely adds to the sense of despair.
The victims yesterday were fellow journalists and their colleagues, people whose business was to challenge through entertainment. An intelligent society embraces that level of scrutiny, their ruthless and cowardly murderers deserve nothing other than our utter contempt
