Ahead of next week’s Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, three teams have confirmed their participation in the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The complete 2026 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship entry list is expected to be released on Thursday, 9 October, during IMSA’s State of the Series address.
Pfaff Motorsports
Pfaff Motorsports has announced it will return for its second season as a Lamborghini Squadra Corse customer team in the GTD PRO class.
Though good fortune has sometimes eluded the 2022 GTD title-winning team this year, Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli did give the #9 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 its first podium finish of the season at Detroit. Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer, Rouven Mohr, has been highly complimentary of the team’s progress – when considering how late the deal came together after Pfaff parted ways with McLaren.
“I remember pretty well, when we had the first discussion together with Pfaff – it was just before Christmas. And then to start the programme from zero was a challenge. Based on this, the commitment of Pfaff, and also how much effort they put into the programme, the learning curve – I’m 100 per cent satisfied,” Mohr said in a media roundtable at Indianapolis.
Lamborghini is targeting the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March as the global debut of the new Temerario GT3, which will appear first in GTD PRO – Pfaff is expected to start 2026 with the Huracán GT3 EVO2 at Daytona before premiering the Temerario GT3 at Sebring.
Pratt Miller Motorsports
After returning to its roots of prototype racing this year, Pratt Miller Motorsports will return for a second IMSA LMP2 campaign with the #73 ORECA 07-Gibson.
Pratt Miller joins a growing LMP2 category that already features confirmed entries from United Autosports USA (with two cars), Tower Motorsports, Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports, and Intersport Racing.
With Chris Cumming and Pietro Fittipaldi leading the way this season, the Pratt Miller ORECA has a best class finish of sixth at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport) in July.
Turner Motorsport
BMW M Motorsport’s longest-serving racing team, Turner Motorsport, will return for the 2026 season, fielding the #96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO in the GTD class.
Will Turner’s fan-favourite squad has five top-five finishes with the new M4 GT3 EVO this year, including three fourth-place finishes in a row heading into Petit Le Mans.
Drivers Patrick Gallagher and Robby Foley are currently fifth in the GTD Drivers’ Championship, while the #96 BMW itself is fourth in the Teams’ Championship. Turner has also won races in the Michelin Pilot Challenge and VP Racing SportsCar Challenge this year.
All three teams will announce their 2026 driver line-ups at a later date.
