Algarve Pro Confirm Third Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 Crew

Algarve Pro Racing has confirmed the final driver line-up for its three-car assault on this winter’s Asian Le Mans Series.

John Falb, Matthias Kaiser, and Sami Meguetounif will pilot the #20 ORECA 07-Gibson, as the Portuguese outfit attempts to score a record-extending seventh Asian Le Mans teams’ title.

Falb is reuniting with Algarve Pro for the first time since 2023, after an initial four-year run with the team, which was headlined by winning the inaugural European Le Mans Series LMP2 Pro/Am title in 2021.

The American has stayed active in LMP2 ever since, most recently completing a part-season campaign with Nielsen Racing in this year’s ELMS.

“I raced with Algarve Pro for four years with many tremendous successes along with tough challenges,” Falb said.

“Stewart and Sam have continued to work hard to build the best race team in the paddock, and I’m super excited to be back with the entire team.

“The Asian Le Mans Series is always a lot of fun, and this year’s competition is better than ever. We have all the tools and talent to fight for the championship, and that is the target. I’m teamed with someone who we know to be quick and consistent in Matthias and a super-fast F2 convert in Sami, and we’re ready to hit the ground running and push for everything.”

Kaiser is returning to the Asian Le Mans Series for the first time since 2021, when he raced for Phoenix Racing. The 34-year-old has competed for Algarve Pro in the ELMS the past two seasons, including three podium finishes and a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year.

“The Asian Le Mans Series is a great championship that visits some fantastic tracks in cool countries, and I’m super happy to be back,” he commented.

“It’s a great opportunity to race at a time of year when you don’t usually get much driving in, and I’m looking forward to returning to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where I fell in love with LMP2.”

Sportscar rookie Meguetounif completes the line-up. The 21-year-old started 2025 racing in FIA Formula 2, but exited the championship mid-season, and has since gone on to test the ORECA twice, including publicly with IDEC Sport during October’s ELMS Rookie Test.

“It has been a frustrating year, so having this opportunity to join Algarve Pro Racing in the 2025-26 Asian Le Mans Series is something I’m very excited about,” said the Frenchman.

“Endurance racing is completely new to me and, while I have driven the ORECA 07-Gibson twice to date, I know I still have a lot to discover, which is exciting in itself. Algarve Pro is a great team that can teach me a lot. I know my speed and that I can perform at a high level, testing has gone well and I can’t wait to go racing at Sepang.”

The #20 ORECA joins Algarve Pro Racing’s previously announced squads for the upcoming campaign. Michael Jensen, Tom Dillmann, and Enzo Trulli will share the #25 ORECA, with George Kurtz, Malthe Jakobse,n and Louis Delétraz competing in the CrowdStrike-backed #4 entry.

The 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series begins at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, from the 12th to 14th December 2025.
