Danish outfit RaceGroup is set to make its GT World Challenge Europe debut next season, fielding a Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo in collaboration with AF Corse.
RaceGroup has dominated TCR Denmark for the past two years, sweeping the drivers’, teams’ and under 25s’ titles in both campaigns. For 2026, its touring car programme has been put on pause, as it instead steps on to the international stage for the first time.
The team has announced plans to take on the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with the all-Danish line-up of Frederik Schandorff, Simon Birch and Malte Ebdrup.
Two-time class Endurance Cup drivers’ champion Schandorff will act as a mentor to his younger co-drivers, as he combines this programme with his assault on the IMSA Sportscar Championship with Inception Racing. The 28-year-old last competed full-time in the Endurance Cup in 2022, when he won his second title, but has made a pair of one-off appearances at the 24 Hours of Spa since.
Birch is joining RaceGroup after taking on the ADAC GT Masters with Razoon – More Than Racing this year, aboard a Porsche 911 GT3 R (992). The 18-year-old also made his GT World Challenge Europe debut in a one-off at the Misano Sprint Cup event.
2025 TCR Denmark drivers’ champion Ebdrup, meanwhile, is staying with the team heading into 2026, for what is set to be his GT racing debut.
“I am incredibly proud of the trio we are putting together for GT World Challenge Europe in 2026,” said Team Principal Henrik Lundgaard.
“Malthe and Simon bring strong talent and impressive results, and Simon has already made his mark internationally. Frederik has built a solid international career and has taken home impressive results. With those three drivers together we have the perfect combination of raw talent and experience.”
At this point, RaceGroup has only committed to the five-round Endurance Cup, with a decision to be made on an entry into the Sprint Cup in the coming weeks.
The 2026 GT World Challenge Europe season begins at Circuit Paul Ricard on 11th and 12th April 2026.
