The official unveiling of the Toyota TR010 Hybrid this week has given us the first set of official images of the Japanese marque’s updated Hypercar challenger.
Toyota hasn’t gone into much detail about the changes made from its predecessor, the GR010 Hybrid, to this point; though Autosport.jp has managed to get some nice snippets of feedback from testing. In the meantime, as we wait to get up close and personal with the TR010 in Qatar, there are still plenty of key visual differences between the two cars to take a glance at.
The front end has received a significant redesign, with Toyota Racing’s styling department playing a role in the design of one of its top-class prototypes for the first time.
Adopting styling cues from several other Toyota projects, such as the Toyota GR LH2 Racing Concept revealed at Le Mans last year, the nose is sleeker and has been squared off, whilst the headlights have received a significant overhaul and are now split into two elements. The nose also features a single dive plane on each corner, rather than two like the GR010.
Looking to the side of the car, the differences appear minimal. The most significant tweak appears to be a new look to the piece of bodywork that houses the lit number panels.
The changes continue at the rear of the car, where the styling of the tail lights has been updated and curvature has been introduced to the previously straight rear wing. A second, smaller element has also been added to the outside of the rear wing endplate.
The Toyota TR010 Hybrid is set to make its global racing debut at the opening round of the 2026 FIA WEC, the Qatar 1812KM, from 26th to 28th March 2026.
