Practice 2 at the Bathurst 12 Hour has gone off without any interruption, with the 40-minute session limited to Bronze drivers, with a few Silver-rated drivers given dispensation to run during the session.
The session was entirely incident-free, with 21 cars taking the field. This included every Pro-Am, Bronze, GT4 and Invitational cars, as well as Brad Schumacher in the #55 Jamec Racing Audi, and Kenny Habul in the 75 Express Mercedes.
Brett Hobson topped the session late in the #45 RAM Motorsport/GWR Australia Mercedes AMG, setting a 2:05.3176.
Maxime Oosten set the early mark in the #89 Team KRC BMW, finishing the session only 0.02 behind Hobson, while Brad Schumacher finished the session strong, setting a 2:05.35 on his final lap in the #55 Jamec Racing Audi, to end the session 0.03 behind Hobson.
The #27 Heart of Racing by SPS Mercedes and the #75 75 Express Mercedes rounded out the top five, while sixth-place Lorenzo Patrese put the #193 Ziggo Sport Tempesta by ARGT Ferrari into 6th, sneaking into the 2:05s as well.
The leading Invitational-class car was the #111 111 Racing IRC GT at the hands of Darren Currie, setting a 2:08.93, while the top GT4 car was the #42 Method Motorsport McLaren, with Adrian Kunzle leading the #7 Team NZ Aston Martin by only four tenths of a second.
The Bathurst 12 Hour sessions continue with Practice 3 at 13:10 Local time (AEDT, UTC+11), before another Bronze-Only session later in the day at 15:40.
