Saugmotoren To Run Z4 GT3 In N24

A BMW Z4 GT3 is set to participate in the ADAC 24H Nürburgring for the first time since 2019 later this year.

Saugmotoren Motorsport, which won the SP7 class at the race last year with a 997-spec Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, has announced plans to bring the fan-favourite Z4 GT3 out of retirement.

The car will be driven by team owner Julian ‘Mr Saugmotoren’ Reeh, Ralf Schall, Christian Scherer and Henry Walkenhorst, and compete in SP9 against its contemporary GT3 counterparts.

Reeh and Schall drove the team’s Porsche last year, whilst Walkenhorst competed in SP9 for his own Walkenhorst Motorsport squad. Scherer, who works as a ‘RaceTaxi’ driver on the Nordschleife, is set to make his debut at the event.

Walkenhorst Motorsport, notably, previously ran Z4 GT3s at the race from 2013 to 2018, claiming a best finish of sixth overall in 2015.

The Z4 GT3 has twice finished on the podium at the 24H Nürburgring, with Marc VDS Racing Team finishing second in both 2013 and 2015. The car’s most recent start came courtesy of Team Speedline Racing, who retired early in the race in 2019.

The 2026 ADAC 24H Nürburgring will be held on 14th to 17th May 2026.
