Abt Sportsline Enters Two Huracán GT3s In 2026 N24

Two star-studded entries, and a part-time NLS effort presented today

Abt Sportsline has confirmed its plans for the 2026 ADAC 24H Nürburgring, with the squad set to field a pair of Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s in May’s Eifel classic as it looks to build on its fifth place finish from last year.

Its #84 Lamborghini will be backed by Red Bull, and driven by Lamborghini factory drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Luca Engstler and Patric Niederhauser, whilst Nicky Catsburg, Nick Yelloly Lamborghini works pilot Marco Mapelli will share its #130 Huracán GT3 Evo2, which is being sponsored by longtime Abt partner Schaeffler.

#130 was chosen to celebrate Abt’s 130th anniversary, which is taking place this year; the #84 is in reference to Red Bull’s founding year, 1984.

Niederhauser, Catsburg and Yelloly are all new additions to Abt’s line-up for this year. This is set to be Catsburg’s first appearance at the event since his famous triumph aboard Frikadelli Racing Team’s Ferrari 296 GT3 three years ago, whilst 2023 was also 2020 victor Yelloly’s most recent start at the race.

2024 SP9 Pro-Am winner Niederhauser has joined the team following his switch from Porsche to Lamborghini over the off-season, and will be hoping to feature in the race this year, after his Scherer Sport PHX entry was scratched from the field in 2025 following an accident in qualifying.

In preparation for the 24-hour race, Abt will partake in a part-time Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie effort. The #130 Lamborghini will contest this weekend’s NLS1, and NLS2, whilst the #84 Lamborghini will run in NLS4 and NLS5.

“We still have unfinished business with the Nürburgring. We want to win this race, and with this team and these cars we have the best possible foundation to do so. But we know the competition is fierce and the Nordschleife has its own rules,” said Abt Motorsport Director Martin Tomczyk.

“We are delighted to have put together such a formidable lineup once again. The continuity with our returning drivers gives us strength, and the new additions bring fresh momentum and additional experience. They all want the same thing: to win this race.”
