Days after GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS moved its June round at Shanghai International Circuit to nearby Ningbo International Speedpark, the event has moved back to Shanghai, and will now be rescheduled as the 2026 season finale taking place on 30 October–1 November.
Due to an overlap with China’s nationwide College Entrance Exam and subsequent local administrative complications, Ningbo had been selected to replace Shanghai for the event originally scheduled for 3–5 June. Ningbo, located 260 kilometres south of Shanghai, was chosen to reduce the logistical challenges of changing venues on short notice.
However, subsequent discussions with its customer teams has led SRO Motorsports Asia to seek an alternative solution, and two rounds in China will close out the season: The second Beijing Street Race on 2–4 October, and then Shanghai, which hosts the GT World Asia finale for the second time in three years.
Therefore, the next round of GT World Challenge Asia will take place on 11–12 July at Fuji Speedway, the first of two SRO GT PowerTour events in Japan.

“Nevertheless, customer racing and the relationships around it underpin SRO Motorsports Group’s global activities and hard-earned reputation. Following our clients’ input I believe we have found the best solution to what has been a very challenging situation to navigate.”
Details of SRO GT Cup’s races, which were originally set for June at either Shanghai or Ningbo, will be announced at a later date.
