Goodyear has announced the extension of its partnership with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) to remain the exclusive tyre supplier for the LMP2 and LMGT3 categories in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) through 2029.
The American tyre brand has had a presence in the ELMS’ LMP2 classes since 2021 and in LMGT3 since the category debuted in 2024.
Crucially, this extension takes Goodyear into the next era for LMP2, which is set to debut in the ELMS in 2028 with all new prototypes from Ligier and ORECA powered by a new turbo-charged Gibson engine.
Meanwhile, in LMGT3, Goodyear has a long-term vision for the class, and is developing a new slick and wet tyre specification containing up to 66 per cent sustainable materials for 2027. It also supplies the LMGT3 class of the FIA WEC, and recently had its exclusive deal extended to 2029 there too.
