Miller Motorsports Park Saved

News emerged last week during the DSC Editor’s brief vacation that Miller Motorsports Park, the lease for which has not been renewed by the Larry H Miller Group, has been obtained by Mitime Investment & Development Group.

Mitime intend to upgrade the already extensive 511 acre facility as an exercise to prepare their company’s plans to establish five motorsport facilities in China over the next 10 years.

Mitime is owned by Geely group, China’s largest car maker which also owns Volvo cars (and incidentally the company that builds London’s black cabs!)

The facility will be obtained for $20 million with Mitime expected to spend another $40 million to further develop the facility.

Local reports suggest that this will include the upgrading of the main track to FIA and FIM international racing standards; build of a 3/8th-mile oval track, dragstrip, rally-cross course, and other of upgrades to the existing racing circuit. Mitime also wants to add a hotel, more garages and possible manufacturing facilities as well.
