Pre Le Mans testing at Snetterton has long been a feature on these pages at this time of year and this year is no different.
Our resident Norfolk snapper Richard Leach was once again on hand in pretty dismal conditions as Strakka and Rebellion’s LMP1s were joined by a pair of Silverstone bound Aston Martins.
Strakka seemed to get relatively little running as the team shook down the car with new bodywork. The #21 HPD ran mainly early in the session and in the final minutes too with Jonny Kane on driving duty.
Rebellion brought both their Le Mans bound Lola Toyotas out to play with just Nicolas Prost on driving duty for a series of short stints, up to 5 laps at a time.
The factory-run Bilstein backed V12 Vantage GT3 is set to enter this weekend’s Blancpain Endurance Series race and Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke were on hand to test, the blue and yellow Aston brightening up an otherwise very grey day.
The PGF – Kinfaun Vantage GT3 tested too but not, it seems with either John Gaw or Phil Dryburgh driving. This car too is set to race at Silverstone, though in this case that will be two consecutive weekends, the car having led the British GT race last weekend.
