Taurus Drivers (In The Judd-Powered Car)
Benjamin Leuenberger, Didier Andre, Christian Vann and Alex Müller
were all driving a Taurus Sports Lola B2K / 10 Judd at Snetterton
today – the ex-Intersport chassis, which was raced at Sebring.
Christian Vann confirmed
that he, Andre and Leuenberger are in this car for Le Mans.
“Benjamin and Alex
have signed to drive the Judd-powered car in the four LMES events,
and I’m hoping to find the budget to join them,” confirmed
Vann.
Benjamin Leuenberger
had his first try in the Lola yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, and
was enjoying the way the Judd engine revs., compared to the Panoz
he drove last year. “We were struggling to get heat into the
tyres this morning because it was quite cold. The next time I’ll
drive it will be at the Le Mans Test next week.”
Christian
Vann last raced a Taurus Sports Lola at Monza last year, and suggested
that the Leuenberger / Andre / himself combination would be a good
one for Le Mans – “all experienced, and all similar
pace.”
Meanwhile Alex
Müller was enjoying his first drive in a sports prototype,
and impressed everyone with his speed straight away, which is what
you’d expect of an experienced F3000 driver (right).
Here is Christian
Vann (below) returning to the pits after a Thursday morning run
round Snetterton.
More from Taurus
once we've caught up with Ian Dawson.
