Since then the car has been developed as a multi-platform GT racing car and the announcement of a GT4 version provides customers with the option of racing the cars in full GT4 competition and the in-house Ginetta championships.

The 2014 Ginetta G55 GT4 car will use the in-house Ginetta developed 3.7 Ford V6 engine, producing 355bhp. The drivetrain starts with the Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox with optional Ginetta factory-developed pneumatic paddle-shift system.

Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson added; “The G55 is the latest car developed by Ginetta for both Cup and now GT4 competition. The car is great value and offers world-beating performance combined with first-rate safety specification.”

Factory Driver and Head Of Sales Mike Simpson said; “We are very excited to offer the G55 as a GT4 car from 2014, it looks stunning and will be every bit as quick as its predecessor, the Ginetta G50 GT4. I think Ginetta will have a very busy winter build schedule!”

The Ginetta G50 GT4 car has, since it’s homologation in 2008 won the British GT Championship four times in five years, as well as claimed class victory in the famous Dubai 24 Hours in 2012 and a number of other European titles.

Whilst the G55 GT4 will be Ginetta’s most up-to-date GT car, the 2011, 2012 and 2013 specification G50 GT4 cars will still be eligible to compete in the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup for 2014.
