Beechdean AMR has announced that Jordan Albert will not take part in the final two rounds of the season at Snetterton and Donington Park, due to ‘circumstances beyond his control’.
This season Albert has been driving the team’s GT4 car in British GT with Jack Bartholomew. The pair currently lead the Silver Cup driver standings and are second in the British GT GT4 drivers’ championship.
Replacing Albert for Snetterton will be Ross Gunn, who won the 2015 British GT4 championship with Beechdean AMR. Gunn is unable to compete in the team’s GT3 Vantage with Andrew Howard at the race, because the damage sustained to the car in its shunt at Spa was deemed too severe to be repaired in time. A replacement for the finale at Donington has not been decided.
“Jordan has delivered more than we could have expected for his first season in British GT and driving a GT4 car,” commented team owner Andrew Howard. “He is an ambitious young man and a skilful driver who has a promising career ahead of him and we wish him every success in the future.”
At Snet, Gunn and Bartholomew will be joined by Jamie Chadwick and Paul Hollywood, who are racing in the second Beechdean Aston Martin Vantage V8 GT4.
