The third-place finishing #1 Rebellion Racing R-13 Gibson of Neel Jani, Andre Lotterer and Bruno Senna, has been disqualified from the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps classification after failing post-race scrutineering.
As a result, the crew has lost its third-place finish, and the sister #3 R-13 of Thomas Laurent, Gustavo Menezes and Mathias Beche has been promoted to the final podium spot.
The reason for the #1’s disqualification according to the Stewards Decision is that “the car’s skid block was measured with 18.8mm, which is 1.2mm under the tolerance of the measurement of the skid block (25-5mm).
“The competitor accepted the measurement, and according to Art. 12.18 of the International Sporting Code, the Stewards decide that all of the following cars are moving up in the classification.”
Rebellion Racing has the right to appeal the decision.
