Modell Steps Away From RJN British GT Drive

Moore's new teammate to be announced soon

Devon Modell has decided to step-down from his drive in the British GT Championship with RJN Motorsport Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3, after just two rounds.

Modell has cited difficulties in balance his time between racing and his business commitments as the main reason for giving up the seat.

He has completed three races with the team, a 12th and 11th place finish at the opening rounds at Oulton Park followed by a DNF at Rockingham. This sees the team head to the third round with just one point in the standings, 64 points behind the championship-leading Barwell Motorsport.

“It’s a shame,” Devon said. “I knew it was going to be a big ask to run the business and drive a compete over the same weekend. If I’m not able to be 100 per cent focused, it’s better someone else gets the chance to drive the RJN Nissan for now.”

DSC understands that Modell’s replacement, who will join Struan Moore for the remaining rounds, is due to be announced shortly.

The next round of the 2018 British GT Season is May 26-27 from Snetterton.
