Viper Niza Confirms Asian Le Mans Campaign

Ang rejoins the team

Malaysian team Viper Niza Racing is set to return to the Asian Le Mans Series’ LMP3 class in the upcoming 2019/20 season over the winter.

The team will race with a Ligier JS P3 once again, for team owner Douglas Khoo and returning driver Dominic Ang. Ang completed the full 2017/18 season with the team in LMP3.

“This will be our 3rd season and the attraction of endurance racing is getting stronger,” said Khoo. “As opposed to sprint races, there is still some opportunity to continue racing if there are some issues during the race. Racing a prototype is also so much more enjoyable.

“As the series continues to grow in strength and depth, the competition is becoming really intense, especially with better-funded international teams. We are still developing as a team and the aim will be to finish as high as possible.”

In the 2018/19 season, the Viper Niza competed with Inter Europol regular Nigel Moore alongside Khoo, who steered the team to pole position twice during the season.

Moore will return to the Asian Le Mans Series, this season, with defending LMP3 champion Inter Europol Competition. Inter Europol, ACE1 Villorba Corse, Nielsen Racing (with two cars) and GRAFF have all confirmed entries to the LMP3 class for the 2019/20 season.

The full entry list for the season is expected to be released very soon ahead of the opening round of the season at Shanghai next month.
