Aubry In For Allen At Panis Racing For Barcelona, #88 AF Corse Ferrari Withdrawn

Covid 19 continues to make an impact

Gabriel Aubry will step into the Panis Racing ORECA for this weekend’s ELMS season-opening 4 Hours of Barcelona after the young Aussie racer tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the week.

Gabriel Aubry: “It’s a last-minute call, but I’m thrilled to join the Panis Racing team and the Tech1 racing staff, few days ahead of the WEC race in Spa-Francorchamps! Even though arriving in Barcelona in such conditions is not ideal, I am happy to race for a team I know well and also with my mate Will Stevens with whom I shared the WEC season in 2019/2020.

Under these circumstances, the team is doing its best to fit me in, so I can perform this weekend. I can’t wait to see where we stand on Sunday! “

In addition the #88 AF Corse Ferrari is withdrawn from the meeting after Francois Perrodo and Manu Collard were both unable to travel due to COVID restrictions.  The car tested earlier in the week with third driver Alessio Rovera the only driver – the timing screens showed a single lap with the car in the hands of Perrodo but this was an incorrectly set driver indicator.
