Algarve Pro Oreca, From Delay To Delight

And 10 acres of Ecuadorian rain forest are already protected by the team's Carbon-Neutral racing project

Less than 24 hours after arriving late, very late after a catalogue of bad luck, Stewart Cox and his Algarve Pro Racing squad rolled out this stunning effort as the #24 Oreca 07 that will carry the team’s name through the 2021 European Le Mans Series.

The car emerged from the delayed container as a rather dusty specimen requiring a full strip down after a somewhat eventful Asian Le Mans Series as the Racing Team India car!

Now fully resettled the car, for Ferdinand von Habsburg, Richard Bradley and Diego Menchaca, carries the colours of the ‘Drive fast – Act Faster’ campaign to create carbon-neutral racing.

The first step on that road came this week with 10 acres of rainforest in the Narupa Reserve in Ecuador now protected in the name of the team, with the campaign aiming to add very substantially to that total as the campaign moves forward.

The finished article presented at scrutineering this evening is not only a great looking car, it’s quite unlike anything else on the ELMS grid, a fit that this sometimes hard-pressed TV commentator is VERY grateful for!
