The #26 G-Drive Oreca Nissan, driven by Roman Rusinov, John Martin and Mike Conway has been excluded from the results of the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours after post-race inspections found the capacity of the fuel tank was found to be in excess of the permitted maximum.
The Delta-ADR team, which runs the #26 car is to appeal the decision and DSC understands they are to cite factors outside of the team’s control as being at the core of the issue.
The exclusion (subject to appeal) promotes the #42 Greaves Motorsport Zytek Nissan, driven by Jann Mardenborough, Lucas Ordonez and Michael Krumm to third place in class.
That means that Jann Mardenborough becomes the second Nissan GT Academy graduate to make the Le Mans podium on his debut after 2013 team-mate Lucas Ordonez achieved a second place LMP2 class finish in 2011.
