SRO and International Concept Event, the organisers of the Baku World Challenge, have confirmed the date of the FIA GT Series finale in Azerbaijan has been moved from October to November.
A short release was sent out by SRO this morning stating that the Azerbaijani authorities are unable to host the Baku World Challenge weekend on its scheduled date of October 19/20.
“In order to ensure the highest quality of services and welcome and the best working environment for all the partners, sponsors, teams, crews and spectators taking part in the 2013 Baku World Challenge, is has thus be decided to reschedule the event to November 22 to 24, 2013.”
Rumours about the event being postponed surfaced at the Nürburgring Blancpain Endurance Series season finale last weekend and teams and media were told an announcement was due soon.
