Day Eight – 12 Hours to (almost) Sebring.

A trip around New Orleans’s graveyard was in store for the morning. It was a stark contrast from the previous days scenes. Built on a swamp, the graveyard features towers of tombstones.
With the car parked in a possible tow away spot, our look around Jackson Square was short. The architecture is very european, you could easily have been in a French town.
The heavens opened as we got back on the route towards Florida. The Satnav read 12 hours to Sebring. Quite fitting really.
Into Alabama, we spotted a sign for the USS Alabama.
Finally into Florida, our final state of the journey.
Pensacola was on our route through Florida. The Air Force Base is home to the Blue Angels stunt team.
Through the night, the miles kept on coming. Stopping for gas and Red Bull I got a history lesson of President Lincoln as I handed over a $5 note.
We reached our hotel just outside Sebring just after midnight. Coast to Coast, we’d made it. Just one final destination left tomorrow. Sebring.
