3:49- Treluyer takes 4th from the battling #12 Rebellion Lola and continues his chase to get back in contention for a podium.
3:46- #51 Ferrari gets a stop & go penalty for overtaking under yellow flags and would have lost position on the road but the cars around him all pit for scheduled stops. Next lap round #51 pits again this time for driver change and a full service.
3:37- #37 car comes to a stop out on track at Copse.
3:37- 1st and 2nd in GTE AM come in. Very impressive stints from both Collins and Bird in the #53 and #81 respectively.
3:29- #91 Porsche, the GTE PRO leader, is given a stop & go penalty for passing under yellow flags. It comes in next lap and loses the lead of the class to the sister #92 car.
3:25- The 3rd placed car in GTE AM, the #61 Ferrari comes in and catches fire in the pit lane. The fire is dealt with quickly but the car is pushed back in to the garage.
3:19- light rain reported out on track again.
3:16- Treluyer stalls as he tries to get going on his planned pit stop. But there is no great drama and he rejoins and remains 4th on track.
3:13- Reid in the #88 GTE AM Porsche has caught and is trying to get past last year’s champion Potolicchio and very nearly pitches himself off track as he gets on two wheels hitting the curbs hard on the final corner. Three corners later though Reid takes 5th in the class as Potolicchio spins his Ferrari under pressure. As Potolicchio rejoins he’s given the bad news he has been given a 20 second stop & go for speeding in the pit lane for a 2nd time.
3:07- #99 Aston Martin has a very hairy moment in the hands of O’Young who switches ends at Becketts corner and goes the length of the gravel trap backwards. Luckily he hits nothing at all and is back on his way.
3:01- Again in GTE AM Dalla Lana takes the lead of the class and then as he is trying to lap the #53 RAM car Patterson shuts the door and gives Dalla Lana’s Aston Martin a slap on the side. No harm done though as Dalla Lana continues to pull away.
2:54- #2 Audi hits the barrier on the inside of the entry to Copse corner and Treluyer is out of the car pulling bits off the front of the car and shouting at the marshals.
Top 5 in each category at half way.
