4:59- #2 Audi spins at Stowe corner and goes backwards into the gravel. The car loses around two minutes being dragged out of the gravel.
4:58- #1 Audi is officially Retired, the damage was just too much to repair.
4:51 – Toni Vilander gets by Tandy for second place in GTE PRO.
4:48- Sam Bird recovering quickly in GTE AM travelling at least four seconds a lap quicker than the four cars ahead of him.
4:46- #14 Porsche is slow out on track and Jani reports over team radio that it appears to be a hydraulic issue. But on a lighter note for Porsche, Bernhard in the #20 car gets past the #7 Toyota to take 2nd
4:43- Rebellion announce that the #13 car will not be seen again as it has retired in the garage with a gearbox problem.
4:39- A change of lead in GTE AM as Perez-Companc in the #61 Ferrari passes Ben Collins as Collins makes a planned pit stop.
4:39- Wurz takes a spin at Stowe and then comes straight in for driver change to Nakajima and tyres.
4:32- Wurz claims to have “run out of talent” with relation to his spin on the last lap of his stint. Now that’s honesty!
4:30- Collins has found his way back in to the lead in the GTE AM class in the #53 car as the pit stops work themselves out.
4:27- Nakajima and Lotterer both outbreak themselves in the same corner at the same time. No contact but Nakajima takes a spin. No change in position though.
4:25- #14 Porsche appears to be retired as the garage door comes down.
4:24- The #8 Toyota pits for a full service and driver change to Lapierre and rejoins still leading.
4:22- Heidfeld pits the #12 Rebellion Lola from a very impressive 4th but loses that position to the recovering Lotterer in the #2 Audi.
4:19- #20 Porsche pits and changes driver to Hartley. However Nakajima is flying with fastest sectors lighting up the timing screens and takes the Porsche while it is stationary in the pits. So it is a Toyota 1-2.
4:14- After their round of stops the top two in LMP 2 remains #47 Oreca followed by the #26 Morgan, the #26 now in the hands of Rusinov but the #47 car is still in the hands of it’s starting driver Matsuda.
4:10- The lead battle in GTE AM is very tight with the hard charging Bird in the #81 car chasing Ben Collins in the #53 RAM Racing car.
4:05- Finally after a nose to tale battle for two laps between the top two in GTE AM Bird takes his chance as Collins is pushed wide by the LMP 2 leader and BIRD takes the place.
4:02- Andre Lotterer talking about his opening stint in the #2 Audi “we decided to stay out on slicks and these cars are very tough to drive in these conditions, I just locked the brakes and spun into the gravel”
4:00- As the second hour comes to a close Makowiecki, who has been glued to the bumper of Vilander in the #51 Ferrari for about an hour, finally makes his move and makes it a Porsche 1-2 in GTE PRO.
