The potential plan for a September start to the future FIA WEC Calendar, with the season ending with the Le Mans 24 Hours is still very much a favoured option, this according to both ACO President Pierre Fillon and WEC boss Gerard Neveu.
The move is understood to have the support of all of the current and expected future factory entrants but will need FIA World Motorsport Council approval, and that would depend on an acceptable transition plan.
There is no further information on suggested timing with further details promised in the early part of the second part of the WEC season.
