The FIA WEC have released further details of the next round of the World Championship at the Circuit of The Americas on 19/20 September.
Now dubbed the ‘Lone Star Le Mans’ weekend, the 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas will run from 5:00 pm into the night.
With Audi’s recent win at the world’s most famous and prestigious sportscar race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, there is now just one point between current World Championship title points leaders’ Toyota and the German marque.
The FIA WEC’s 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas will follow the Tudor United Sportscar Championship’s 2h 45 minute race earlier in the day.
Together with the support races there will be over 180 sportscars for fans to see. The paddock is open to fans, there are pit walks and autograph sessions, and entry for children is free.
Also notable in the press release this morning is the first appearance of the ‘word’ ‘y’all’ in an FIA Championship press release!
