The opening round of the 2014 Asian Le Mans Series at South Korea’s Inje circuit is set to see just 9 cars on the grid for the race next weekend.
LMP2 is set to see three cars start the season:
A Morgan Judd for OAK Racing Team Total with David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung already confirmed. A Eurasia Motorsport entered Oreca Nissan (with Murphy Prototypes) for Richard Bradley, John Hartshorne and Tacksung Kim. A Craft-Bamboo Racing Morgan Judd – Drivers TBA, is not currently entered for Inje
The new for 2014 CN class, the precursor to the LMP3 class planned for Asian and European Series brings a healthy sextet of cars to the initial list with three different chassis featured, only half though re currently entered for the opening round:
Atlantic Wolf Asia list a pair of Wolf GB08s. Craft Bamboo have a Ligier JS53 for Frank Yu, Samson Chan and Kevin Che. Eurasia Motorsport have already announced a Tatuus, though the official entry below has a blank agains that car and it isn’t confirmed for Inje, neither are a single Tatuus each for both MSR Corsica and PTRS currently listed for the Inje opener
GTs in the Series are now a unified class with GTEs and GT3s running together – That’s no problem at all in 2014 so far with no GTE cars listed (except a rather elderly Porsche 996)
Team Taisan have a GT3 spec Nissan GT-R listed plus that 996 Porsche to GT300 spec – neither are on the Inje list at present. A GT3 Ferrari 458 for Ferrari China Team is listed for the Korean race together with a three car effort from AAI-RStrada, A Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3 for Hanchen Chen, Ryohei Sakaguchi and Marco Seefried and a pair of BMW Z4 GT3s for JunSan Chen, Tatsuya Tanigawa and Ollie Milroy and Yu Lam, Tsuchiya Takeshi and Takamitsu Matsu
Testing starts next Friday (18 July) with the race on Sunday 20 July
