There is a real buzz around the WEC paddock this weekend, and amongst the chatter of teams coming and going for 2015 there’s some real evidence of the much anticipated Nissan LMP1 effort beginning to ramp up.
There is no shortage of obviously clued up Japanese observers in and around the paddock (most in plain clothes, but they have been spotted wearing NISMO gear in the past), much as we saw from the Porsche engineers (and for that matter the Toyota boys before them!)
The team have been heavily in the recruiting market of late, and have picked up a number of key staff members from elsewhere in the sport, including F1.
There’s little doubt that Nissan are looking to bring something special to the game and whilst others speculate they’re content to rest on their ‘NISMO – 30 years of Maverick’ punchline for now.
