The #8 Audi R18 e-tron quattro topped the times in the first FIA WEC practice session of the season, a 1:42.121 a tenth and a half clear of the #17 Porsche with the second Audi third fastest, five factory LMP1s separated by around 6 tenths with the #1 Toyota a further second back and the CLM at the tail end of the LMP2 field, Christian Klien getting his first laps in the #4 machine.

G-Drive racing finished the session with a 1,2, Gustavo Yacaman banging in a 1:50.213, good enough to edge out Sam Bird in the sister car by half a tenth with the KCMG Oreca a half second further back third fastest.

The LMGTE Pro field all ended the session ahead of their Am counterparts with Nicki Thiim topping the times in the #95 Aston Martin, (2:01.393) three tenths up on Gimmi Bruni’s #51 AF Corse Ferrari which edged the now Hanergy liveried #97 Aston Martin into third spot.

Klaus Bachler put the #88 Abu Dhabi Proton Porsche on top in LMGTE Am (2:02.350) ahead of the #72 SMP Racing Ferrari and the Paulo Ruberti pedalled #50 Larbre Corvette.
