A surprise turn at the Nurburgring today was the unexpected appearance by the brand new Porsche 911 GT3-R for Falken Tyres for a test session.
The unliveried car ran in the morning on the GP Loop and paddock sources suggested it would likely run on the Nordschleife later in the day (though we have no confirmation that it did so).
Another interesting snippet that came our way from a senior industry source is that problems have continued with the new direct injection flat 6 set to feature in the new car, the car testing at the Nurburgring was confirmed by Porsche as being equipped with the current GT3R engine rather than the planned new unit.
