24H Series organisers Creventic issue regular updates to their entry lists and the latest news for January’s Dubai 24 Hours makes for very encouraging reading.
There are just shy of 30 entries in the premier A6 cars for FIA GT3 and other pace GT machinery.
Black Falcon and Ram racing will give the Series debut to the new AMG GT3, a pair of cars for the serial success story at the race, and a single car for the British team that took the class title in the Series last year replacing their older SLS GT3s though the gullwing version of the Benz still features with cars from Hofor, Gravity, IDEC Sport, Preci Spark, SPS, V8 Racing and GDL with Black Falcon fielding a third entry for an SLS.
Road Goethe and Stuart Hall are both late additions to the Ram Racing squad.
Audi too have no shortage of new metal listed with six new R8 LMS for C.ABT, WRT, Optimum, Land plus a pair for Car Collection.
There’a pair of Lamborghini Huracan GT3s to savour too with HB Racing and Konrad Motorsport fielding their new cars plus a Super Trofeo spec Huracan for Liepert Motorsport.
No new Ferrari 488s but there are a trio of rapid 458 GT3s, one for the Scuderia Praha outfit and a pair for local heroes Dragon Racing.
Three Porsches too, a pair of 911 GT3Rs for Attempto and a 911 GT America for Artthea Sport.
The MRS-GT Nissan GT-R, the 2014 pole setting ex GT1 Corvette from V8 Racing and the Boursen Ginion Renault RS01 round out a deep and interesting class field.
18 Porsche Cup cars form the 991 class, all bar two listed as the new spec 991 version of the 911.
In SP2 there are more Cup Porsches joining a varied field which includes a Ferrari Challenge car and a trio of the MARC V8s (2 x Focus, 1 x Mazda 3)
SP3 for FIA GT4 cars has good depth too, Ginettas dominate numerically with all bar one of the seven listed as the G55 version this year.
Add to that entries for BMW M3, Lotus Evora, Aston Martin Vantage and the new KTM XBow Coupe and there’s a real battleground promised here.
The new for 2-016 TCR class features a four car, all SEAT entry and thee are good entries too in the Touring Car ‘A’ classes.
A canter through the driver listings picks out a few gems too, Black Falcon field FIA GT World Cup Champ Maro Engel in the #2 Abu Dhabi car, Bernd Schneider is back in the #3. Oliver Webb joint Black Falcon’s regulars in the #16 and Tom Onslow Cole is named in the Ram AMG GT3.
Nicki Thiim features in the #4 C.ABT Audi, Frank Stippler is with Optimum’s #14 car. Marcus Winkelhock joins the #33 Car Collection Audi effort
2015 Eurasia ELMS pairing Pu Jun Jin and Nick de Bruin join the V8 Racing Merc effort whilst Fabio Bambini is named in the Konrad Lamborghini.
Matt Griffin and Alex Kapadia join the #888 Dragon racing car.
In the 997 class ex Audi factory driver Alex Premat and 2015 FIA WEC man Klaus Bachelor join the #35 B2F and #60 Black falcon efforts respectively.
We’re prepared to believe Bruce Lee in the #47 GDL Asia SP2 Porsche, but John Travolta is a bit of a stretch!
Oh and Rebellion Racing hotshot Mathias Beche turns up in the two car Modena Motorsport Renault Clio effort in A3!
