Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen will be continuing in the British GT Championship in 2016, as they enter into a second year with reigning Team’s Champion, Barwell Motorsport.
However the Demon Tweeks-backed pairing will be swapping the BMW Z4 GT3 they campaigned in 2015 for one of Barwell’s stunning new Lamborghini Huracans.
Having suffered dreadful luck in the first half of this year’s British GT season, Minshaw and Keen were unable to post a challenge for the 2015 title, although they clearly demonstrated that they had the pace to do so. However a strong run of three podium finishes in the second half of the season put them sixth in the final standings, and they are now well positioned to post a serious threat for next year’s crown. Jon and Phil’s car will be entered under the banner of ‘Barwell Motorsport racing with Demon Tweeks’.
Minshaw has already sampled the Huracan GT3 when he recently tested one of this year’s factory cars at Vallelunga, and immediately got to grips with the V10-engined machine. The Barwell Motorsport team will be giving the car its UK debut next year, and is receiving significant factory support from Lamborghini Squadra Corse.
The team is scheduled to take delivery of their first new car in December, and will be carrying out an extensive pre-season testing programme in both the UK and Europe. Barwell will be fielding a second Huracan in British GT alongside the Minshaw/Keen car, and is currently working on finalising the driver line-up for this entry.

Phil Keen: “It’s great to be back on board with Barwell and to partner Jon again in BGT. The start of 2015 wasn’t kind to us, so I’m hoping we can set off where we left of at the end of the season. I feel Jon is one of the best Ams on the grid and with Barwell behind us we will be aiming for the title in 2016..!”
