The ownership structure of the Nürburgring has shifted once again, as Russian tycoon Viktor Kharitonin has reportedly bought a 99% stake of the German circuit. The news comes after the circuit’s previous owners Capricorn fell into financial trouble in 2014.
As stated by Forbes Russia, Kharitonin has spent a further £30 million to gain an extra 19% of the ownership. He already owned 80% of the circuit after buying out Capricorn’s share two years ago.
Getspeed, a company based nearby, who is best known to DSC’s readers for competing in the VLN, will own the remaining 1%.
