Proton Competition Team Principal Christian Ried this morning confirmed to DSC the final line-ups for the three cars run by the team for the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours.
The full season FIA WEC #77 LM GTE Pro Porsche 911 RSR will see regular driver pairing Richard Lietz and Michael Christensen joined at Le Mans by 2015 Porsche Supercup Champion Philipp Eng, the Austrian making his Le Mans 24 Hours debut.
In LM GTE Am the #78 KCMG Porsche 911 RSR lineup is also settled, the team opting to retain the full season trio of Christian Ried, Wolf Henzler and Joel Camathias. “Joel has proved to be a super fit for the team, I’m very pleased we could add Le Mans to his planned programme.”
It will be Camathias’ second Le Mans start after racing in 2012 as part of the full season JWA Avila Porsche line up in FIA WEC.
The #88 Abu Dhabi Proton squad remains as posted for the full FIA WEC season: Khalid Al Qubaisi, Patrick Long and David Heinemeier Hansson.
