Keen Out, Sven Müller In At WeatherTech Racing

Last-minute driver change for the Porsche team

WeatherTech Racing has announced that Sven Müller will be partnered up with Cooper MacNeil for this weekend’s IMSA round at Road America.

Müller – who currently leads the Porsche Supercup and Carrera Cup Germany series’ made his IMSA debut earlier this year at the Rolex 24 with Frikadelli Racing.

“It is going to be a real pleasure to drive with Alex Job Racing,” Müller said. “I already know Mario Farnbacher and Alex Riberas from racing in Europe. To have a good strong teammate like Cooper makes this weekend even more interesting. I have been learning the Road America circuit on the simulator and I am looking forward to driving it tomorrow.”

The change by the team will see Leh Keen, who has driven the #22 team’s Porsche this season, take no further part in the its campaign this season.

“We decided to make a driver change for the rest of the season in the WeatherTech Porsche,” team owner, Alex Job said. “Leh Keen has won races with us, but off the track circumstances led to a change. We wish Leh all the best going forward. Sven is a fast young driver that is currently leading both the Supercup and Carrera Cup series in Europe. We are looking forward to having a successful weekend of racing at Road America. We will reassess where we are with the 22 Porsche after this weekend.”

For the race, the team will also be running a second Porsche with David MacNeil and Gunnar Jeanette as its driver pairing.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race in Wisconsin is due to start 13:00 local time this Sunday.
