Rebellion To Run With Oreca In 2017

Fresh livery for its Oreca 07s

Rebellion Racing has announced that it will be continuing its partnership with Oreca into 2017, and has ordered two Oreca 07 LMP2s.

“The 2017 LMP2 races are going to be ultra competitive and that makes choosing the right chassis partner very important,” said team manager Bart Hayden. “With the R-Ones, we have appreciated the skill of the ORECA designers and we have witnessed the success of their “05” LMP2 chassis, so it was almost a logical choice for us to continue our association together.

“We are excited by this new challenge and are looking forward to getting our hands on the first of our new cars.”

The team also released a render of a new all-red livery for the team on an 07 (above).

Aside from the team announcing that it will not be running in LMP1 L next season, it is unclear what the Swiss-flagged team’s 2017 programme will look like; whether it will continue to field cars in the WEC, move to IMSA or run parralel programmmes.

This season, its final in LMP1 L for the foreseeable future, the team has won the WEC LMP1 L Drivers and Teams Championships with its #13 R-One crew and scored two overall podiums (early in the season).
