Nyck de Vries, a McLaren F1 Junior driver, has joined Racing Team Nederland, and will compete as part of its FIA WEC line-up after the Le Mans 24 Hours, in the seat which will be filled by Jan Lammers for the opening pair of races. From there he will compete with previously announced drivers Frits van Eerd and Giedo van der Garde.
His first race with the team at Silverstone in August will mark the 23-year-old’s sportscar debut. This programme will run parallel with his upcoming Formula 2 campaign with Prema Racing.
Racing Team Nederland also presented the colour scheme for its Dallara P217 Gibson for the season during the announcement of de Vries joining the team.

Notably, the team’s Dallara was presented with blank tyres, the team still undecided on which supplier it will use this season. The team has been out testing Dunlop and Michelin tyres in the off season.
