Ricky Taylor topped the race morning warm-up session as the sun rose over a packed Sebring International Raceway, smoke still hanging in the air as the local authorities continue to undertake fire break work some miles away.
The Penske Acura man took the #7 car around in a best time of 1:48.375, a full second clear of the ESM Nissan per with Juan Pablo Montoya rounding out the top four in the #8 Acura.
Paul di Resta was the best of the P2 runners in the #32 United Autosports Ligier, a 1:50.824 for the Scot.
Jesse Krohn ceded a BMW M8 GTE 1,2 in GTLM1:57.741 for the #24 car, Coonor de Phillippi in the #25 pipping the #911 Porsche for third fastest.
Perhaps the best news of the session though was from the Michael Shank racing squad as their now repaired #93 car topped the session in GTD, Lawson Aschenbach with a 2:00.784, just faster than a late session effort from Andrew Davis in the #44 Magnus Racing Audi with the #14 Lexus third fastest, Jorg Bergmeister in the #73 Park Place Porsche fourth.
