Gulf 12 Hours: Pre-Race Notes, Grid Set, Norma Attack Blunted

And Winslow drive-time curbed

After a final decision on the post-session reports that was posted at 9pm local time, almost four hours after the end of the sessions were completed the grid is set for the 2018 Gulf 12 Hours with the final grid below.

STARTING GRID >>

Norma Attack Blunted

There have however been some other overnight developments, both affecting the Graff Racing team and their Norma M30 LMP3s.

A change to the race’s supplementary regulations sees the #4 and #39 cars have a further 60 seconds added to their minimum pitstop time at each of their “compulsory imposed time pit stops.”

The bulletin states that this is to balance the performance of the Normas with the two Ligier JS P3s present though is being very widely interpreted as a move to ensure that a GT car wins this race.

Winslow Drive Time Curbed

In addition there is a decision that relates specifically to James Winslow who requested, and was granted, a categorisation downgrade from Silver to Bronze.

The decision states that having evaluated Winslow’s performance in Practice and Qualifying he must complete no more than 2 hours 24 minutes of the 12 Hour race to come.
